REFUND POLICY SUMMARY

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using any services offered by Mayafuna Learning ("we," "us," or "our"), including enrolling in courses, purchasing coaching packages, joining the community, or engaging consulting services, you ("you" or "user") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify enrolled users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.


2. GENERAL TERMS

2.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use our services. If you are under 18, you may only use our services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2.2 Account Registration

Some services require you to create an account. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and current information
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account

You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2.3 Intellectual Property Rights

All content provided through our services—including but not limited to course materials, videos, text, slides, worksheets, handouts, quizzes, coaching materials, and community resources—is the intellectual property of Lisa Egle and Mayafuna Learning and is protected by copyright law.

You may NOT:

  • Share, copy, distribute, or resell any materials
  • Reproduce, adapt, or use course content for teaching or commercial purposes without explicit written permission
  • Use automated systems to scrape, download, or distribute content

Violation of these terms may result in:

  • Immediate revocation of access without refund
  • Legal action for copyright infringement

2.4 User-Generated Content

You retain all rights to work you create and submit through our services (e.g., assignments, discussion posts, reflections). By submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to use anonymized versions of student work for course improvement and marketing purposes, with your explicit written permission.

All submitted work must be your own original work and must comply with your home institution's academic integrity policies.

2.5 User Conduct

You agree to engage respectfully and constructively with instructors, staff, and other users. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language
  • Sharing others' personal information without consent
  • Spamming or posting commercial solicitations
  • Disrupting the learning environment

Violations may result in removal from services without refund.

2.6 Limitation of Liability

EDUCATIONAL SERVICES ONLY: All services provided by Mayafuna Learning are for educational and informational purposes only. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, skill improvements, academic credit, employment opportunities, or institutional policy changes.

NO WARRANTIES: Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.

LIABILITY LIMITS: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mayafuna Learning and Lisa Egle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services.

THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS: Our services are hosted on Thinkific and may integrate with other third-party platforms. We are not responsible for issues arising from these platforms. Please review Thinkific's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2.7 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mayafuna Learning, Lisa Egle, and our affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of our services.

2.8 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

3. PRODUCT-SPECIFIC TERMS

3A. AI WRITING ESSENTIALS COURSE

Access and Use

  • Course access is granted for individual, non-commercial use only upon payment
  • Access is provided for the duration specified at purchase (typically lifetime access unless otherwise stated)
  • Course content may be updated or modified; enrolled students receive updates at no additional charge
  • Access may be revoked for violations of these Terms

Course Materials

All course materials (videos, lectures, slides, worksheets, quizzes, assignments) remain the property of Mayafuna Learning. See Section 2.3 for usage restrictions.

Certificates of Completion

What Certificates Represent:
Certificates of completion indicate that the student has completed all course requirements and passed required assessments as determined by the course instructor.

What Certificates Do NOT Represent:

  • Professional certification or accreditation
  • Guarantee of skill proficiency or mastery
  • Academic credit from any institution
  • Qualification for employment or professional practice

Certificates are for personal educational documentation only. Certificates may be revoked if academic dishonesty is discovered.

Course Refund Policy

  • Eligibility: Students may request a full refund within 15 days of purchase if they have completed less than 20% of the course content
  • Ineligibility: Refunds are not available after 15 days or if more than 20% of the course has been accessed
  • Process: To request a refund, email [email protected] with your order number. Refunds are processed within 10 business days
  • Payment Reversals: Refunds are issued to the original payment method

3B. COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP

Membership Benefits

Community membership provides access to:

  • Private discussion forum with other students and educators
  • Monthly live Q&A sessions via Zoom with Lisa Egle
  • Exclusive resources and materials
  • Peer support and networking opportunities

Payment Options

Community membership is available through the following payment structure(s). Refund and cancellation policies vary based on your selected payment option.

ONE-TIME PAYMENT:

  • Members pay a single fee for a specified period of access (e.g., 3 months, 6 months, 12 months)
  • Access is granted immediately upon payment
  • No automatic renewals or recurring charges
  • Access expires at the end of the purchased period unless renewed

MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION (if offered):

  • Members are billed monthly on a recurring subscription basis
  • Payment is processed automatically on the same day each month
  • Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice to active members
  • Members may cancel at any time

PAYMENT PLANS (if offered):

  • Members may pay in installments as specified at checkout
  • Access is granted upon first payment
  • Continued access requires timely payment of all installments
  • Failure to complete payments may result in loss of access

Cancellation and Refunds

ONE-TIME PAYMENT:

  • You may request a full refund within 10 days of purchase for any reason
  • After 10 days, all sales are final and no refunds will be issued
  • To request a refund, email [email protected] with your order number
  • Refunds are processed within 10 business days to your original payment method
  • Upon refund, your community access is immediately revoked

MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION:

  • Members may cancel their subscription at any time through their account dashboard
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No refunds are provided for partial months of service
  • Upon cancellation, access continues until the end of the paid period

PAYMENT PLANS:

  • If you cancel during a payment plan, you forfeit access immediately
  • Refunds are not available for payments already made
  • You are still responsible for any remaining installment payments unless otherwise agreed in writing

Service Discontinuation

In the event Mayafuna Learning discontinues the community membership service:

  • Members will be notified at least 30 days in advance
  • One-time payment members will receive a prorated refund based on unused months
  • Monthly subscribers will receive a prorated refund for any full months remaining
  • Partial months are non-refundable
  • Access will continue through the notice period

Community Guidelines

Members must:

  • Treat all participants with respect and professionalism
  • Keep discussions constructive and relevant
  • Respect confidentiality when others share personal experiences
  • Refrain from self-promotion or commercial solicitation without permission

Violations may result in immediate removal without refund.


3C. COACHING SERVICES

Service Packages

Coaching is offered in the following packages:

  • 1-Hour Session: $95
  • 2-Hour Package: $180
  • 3-Hour Package: $255

All packages include one-on-one consultation with Lisa Egle focused on AI integration for educators.

Session Validity and Expiration

All coaching session credits expire 6 months from the date of purchase.

  • Unused sessions are non-refundable and non-transferable after expiration
  • It is the client's responsibility to schedule sessions before expiration
  • No extensions will be granted beyond the 6-month validity period

Scheduling and Cancellation

  • Scheduling: Sessions must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance via our booking system
  • Rescheduling: Sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice at no penalty
  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be counted as completed sessions
  • No-Shows: Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice will be counted as a completed session

Scope of Services

Coaching provides:

  • Educational consulting and guidance on AI integration
  • Assignment redesign support
  • Strategy for addressing academic integrity concerns
  • Recommendations for tools and implementation approaches

Coaching does NOT provide:

  • Legal advice regarding institutional policies or regulations
  • Guarantee of specific outcomes or student performance improvements
  • Liability for implementation decisions made by the client or their institution
  • Technical support for AI tools or platforms (only guidance on usage)

Professional Boundaries:
Clients must consult with their own institutional legal counsel, IT departments, and administrators regarding policy implementation. Coaching recommendations should be adapted to individual institutional contexts.

Refund Policy

  • Coaching packages are non-refundable once purchased
  • Sessions must be used within the 6-month validity period
  • Unused sessions that expire are not eligible for refunds, credits, or extensions
  • If you are unable to schedule initial sessions due to availability issues on our end, you may request a refund within 30 days of purchase

3D. CONSULTING SERVICES (For Administrators)

Custom Engagements

Consulting services for educational institutions and organizations are structured as custom engagements tailored to specific needs. Each consulting project is governed by an individual Statement of Work or Service Agreement negotiated separately from these general Terms.

Scope of Services

Consulting may include:

  • AI integration strategy development for institutions
  • Faculty training and professional development
  • Policy review and recommendations
  • Program assessment and improvement planning

Consulting does NOT include:

  • Legal advice on compliance, liability, or regulatory matters
  • Guarantee of specific institutional outcomes
  • Liability for decisions made by the institution based on recommendations

Deliverables and Timeline

Specific deliverables, timelines, and payment terms will be outlined in the individual consulting agreement.

Confidentiality

Information shared during consulting engagements will be kept confidential except:

  • As required by law
  • With explicit written permission from the client institution
  • When anonymized for research or educational purposes

Intellectual Property

Custom materials created specifically for a client institution during a consulting engagement may be subject to negotiated ownership terms outlined in the consulting agreement. General frameworks, templates, and methodologies developed by Mayafuna Learning remain our intellectual property.

Payment Terms

Payment terms are established in individual consulting agreements. Typical terms include:

  • 50% deposit upon agreement execution
  • Remaining balance upon completion of deliverables
  • Net 30 payment terms for established institutional clients

4. PAYMENT AND BILLING

4.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Thinkific and its authorized payment partners (Stripe, PayPal, etc.). We do not directly store credit card information.

4.2 Currency

All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified.

4.3 Taxes

Prices do not include applicable sales tax, VAT, or other government-imposed fees. You are responsible for any such taxes.

4.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes do not affect existing purchases or active subscriptions until renewal.


5. PRIVACY

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our separate Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. TERMINATION

6.1 Termination by You

You may discontinue use of our services at any time. Refund eligibility is governed by the product-specific refund policies outlined in Section 3.

6.2 Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to services immediately, without notice or refund, if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Abuse or harass staff or other users
  • Use services in a manner that threatens security or functionality

6.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your access to services will be revoked
  • You must cease all use of materials and content
  • Provisions regarding intellectual property, liability, and indemnification survive termination

7. DISPUTE RESOLUTION

7.1 Informal Resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact [email protected] first. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve issues informally within 30 days.

7.2 Legal Action

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be governed by Section 2.8 (Governing Law) of these Terms.


8. MISCELLANEOUS

8.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any product-specific agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mayafuna Learning.

8.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

8.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

8.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

8.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
